Insha'Allah, it is my hope that every Muslim prays to Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala seeking mercy for his family, especially his parents who have endured the hardship of his upbringing. Remembering what the Prophet, peace be upon him, taught us, I should say praying for mercy for ones family with a special emphasis on the behalf of his mother and then his father. When we ask Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala for mercy on our family, insha'Allah, we should include all of our family. If one considers this for a moment, in light of what we have learned rom the Genome Project (i.e., the mapping of the human chromozones), we see that we are all related to one another as 52nd cousins. Islam also makes us all brothers and sisters, sharing the same blessing bestowed upon us by Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala in His loving kindness, that is the very planet we dwell upon, the beauty of the cosmos and the wonder of life. So, insha'Allah, when praying for the mercy of Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala for our family, insha'Allah, we are praying for all of the people on Earth, as well as all of the creation of Allah Subhanna wa Ta'ala.
